Andre Rivera

Andre Rivera holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Jazz Studies from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and is a 2016 Illinois Golden Apple Scholar. He graduated from Antioch Community High School where he was involved in the jazz band, concert band, pit orchestra, and marching band as drum major. In college Andre was principal trumpet in the Augustana Symphonic Band, Augustana Symphony Orchestra and Jazz bands. He also had the opportunity to tour with the Augustana Symphonic Band through different regions including the Midwest, California, and Spain. Andre's passion for radio and recording arts led him to become the general manager of WAUG.FM, which is Augustana's student radio station. This role allowed him to further explore his love for music production and broadcasting. 

Since graduating in 2019, Andre has served as director of bands, jazz and mariachi for various school programs across Chicagoland. Andre remains an active musician in the Chicagoland area. He continues to perform with his salsa and rock bands, play in the Monday Night Jazz Band at the College of Lake County and has had his group open up for national and international touring artists.
