I am not sure if I am good enough for the variety show. Should I audition?
Yes! Of course! We encourage as many people as possible to audition. You should always audition on the off chance that you do make. Even in you do not make it, we provide you with feedback on how to improve for next time. The more you audition for events like these the easier auditions become. So even if you do not make it as a freshmen, sophomore, or junior, you have, at least, learned how the process works and gained that experience.
What can i do to improve my chances of making the variety show?
Practice, Practice, Practice. The most success auditionees are individuals who have worked out of the kinks in their act well before auditions. If you get nervous auditioning for people, run through your act in front of different people on different occasions. Have someone film your act so you can watch yourself and see how you look and sound from an outside perspective. Also, go through the different details of your act. Practice in the clothes you plan on performing in. Double check the cut of your music. Do everything you can, so those small details do not interfere with your performance when the time comes.
