
Charles Stonehill

Charlie Stonehill is the Director of Bands at John T. Magee Middle School and also serves as the RLHS Marching Panthers Drumline Instructor and RLHS Winter Drumline Coach.
Mr. Stonehill grew up in Bartlett, IL and attended Bartlett High School in School District U-46 and graduated in 2007. He was a member of the band program as well as the district’s Academy for Science, Engineering, and Technology. After choosing to go into music education, Mr. Stonehill attended Illinois State University and participated in the Big Red Marching Machine, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Winds, and Percussion Ensemble. At the end of his undergraduate studies he student taught at Elk Grove High School and Grove Junior High School. Upon graduating Mr. Stonehill spent his first few years as a substitute teacher and special education assistant in the Elk Grove, St. Charles, and Streamwood areas before arriving at John T. Magee Middle School.
Outside of teaching, Mr. Stonehill is a percussionist in the Fox Valley Concert Band based out of Geneva. This group performs in a variety of venues in the Fox Valley area. Mr. Stonehill is also heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America as a volunteer leader within his troop. After earning the rank of Eagle Scout he continues to help his troop as an Assistant Scoutmaster as well as coordinate the Troop Leader Training Course twice a year.
Mr. Stonehill is very excited to be returning for another fantastic year at John T. Magee Middle School and wishes all the best to all band students and parents.
