There is a $35 activity fee for students participating in the Round Lake Area Schools band program. This fee is collected upon registration for the school year or applied to the student’s account if joining band after registration. This money is applied towards instrument repair and other general expenses.
School Instrument Rental PolicyStudents are strongly encouraged to rent or purchase their own instrument, but there are a few instruments available from the school for students to use.
There are separate handouts with information on renting or purchasing an instrument available at this link or in the band room. This link will take you to the Music & Arts website. If a student is using a school instrument, that student is responsible for all repair costs should that instrument require repairs. These repairs can be very costly, so please help your student understand the importance of taking care of their assigned instrument. |
This year students will be assigned their own iPad to use for all of their classes. These devices are meant to be used as learning tools, not toys or entertainment devices. Band students will use their iPads to:
It is essential that the iPad comes to school each day with a full charge. Most classes will be using the iPads and without a full charge at the start of school the iPad will lose power before all classes are completed for the day. Band students should assume they will use their iPad every day in band class as well as for most performances, so they need to make sure they have enough battery for the day’s activities. Charging opportunities may be available during class, but this should not be expected. Concert UniformsThe following is the standard concert uniform for all performances unless otherwise indicated.
